The beauty of nature holds within the power of the sublime and on my best days with my camera I mange to capture a glimpse of what I see. Landscape art is my greatest joy, and in nature do I find my personal inspiration. That said, I also love to observe the beauty in man’s creations, the accidental patterns and symmetries of life, and the heart-warming moments when people put aside their cares, and come together to share, create and enjoy. Like Cartier Bresson I seek the decisive moment, and my love of street photography is deep. Yet more, I am inspired by the compassion for subject that is the mark of Dorothea Lange’s work, and I can only say that I will know I have achieved my goal of bringing together my art and my passion for social justice, if ever my images are censored too...

Sustainable Business
As one time environmental activist I have struggled to reconcile photography and an eco consciousness, but I do what I can to minimize the environmental impact of my work. “Think global – act local” is a favorite maxim. In terms of photography, I do what I can by utilizing my purchasing power – trying to source materials from small local businesses not global conglomerates, printing on eco friendly paper and practicing a 100% carbon offsetting scheme for all car mileage and web hosting (carbon offsetting through tree planting – the most effective method, and one which guarantees some natural habitats and flood defence too).
You can visit the
Septemberlegs forest and see how much C02 I have sequerstered. They are small steps toward being an ethical business, but better than none.
